Turtle Tuesday in Kauai

 

So, let me tell you about my hike down the cliff from the condo in Princeville. It wasn’t exactly easy—I kinda questioned my life choices that day halfway down—but wow, was it worth it.

Because guess what I finally spotted? Sea turtles.

Now, you’d think these giant, beautiful creatures are easy to miss. But my friend pointed them down to me and there they are--up to seven of them. They’re basically the masters of camouflage. One second you’re staring at rocks and water, the next—a turtle flipper pops up like, “Surprise!” They blend so perfectly into the ocean and lava rocks that I was squinting a little bit.

And here’s the thing—they’re not just big and slow like people imagine. In the water, they’re graceful, quick, almost like ballerinas with flippers. 

Seeing them made the whole climb down worth it.

Oh—and I’m also happy to be part of this Tuesday blog hop group. No fussy rules, just fun reads. Scrolling through the other posts honestly put a smile on my face.
